This work conveys in Latin an excerpt from John ch. I using the artist’s own color alphabet. The Word starts from the top of the window closest to the altar and continues from right to left. The blank white space next to the arranged colors suggests the blank space left at the end of the sentence.
Employing the technique of laminating mouth-blown antique glass, the work creates richly textured colored shadows with high translucency.
John Chapter Four tells the story of a Samaritan woman at a well, a Gentile who was suffering from spiritual thirst confessing her faith in conversation with Jesus Christ. The series of faith that lead to salvation through the Words of Jesus are in line with the processes of passing through the Gates of Heaven at St. Kim Tae-gun Church proceeding to the altar that symbolizes resurrection and salvation.

작가 고유의 색채 알파벳으로 요한복음 4장 말씀을 라틴어로 전하는 작품이다.
제대에서 제일 가까운 창 상단부터 말씀이 시작되며 오른쪽창에서 왼쪽창으로 진행된다. 나열된 색채들 옆으로 비워진 흰색 공간은 문장의 여백을 표현한 것이다. 말씀을 전하는 색유리는 마우스블로운안티크글라스에 라미네이팅 기법을 적용한 것으로 높은 투명도와 함께 풍부한 질감의 색그림자를 만들어낸다.
요한복음 4장은 이방인이면서 영적인 목마름에 허덕이던 우물가의 사마리아 여인이 예수 그리스도와의 대화를 통해 신앙을 고백하는 내용이다. 이처럼 예수 그리스도의 말씀을 통해 구원을 얻게 되는 일련의 신앙과정은, 성 김대건 성당의 ‚천국의 문을 통과해 부활과 구원을 상징하는 제대에 도달하게 되는 과정과 그 맥을 같이하고 있다.
